2015 Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day

In recent years, Alderney has joined together with the Royal Mint to release a coin to mark Remembrance Day.  Traditionally, the coin's design is based on the Poppy, the familiar symbol of Armistice, which is colour- printed in vivid red.  This year's design by Royal Mint Engraver Glyn Davies, has been inspired by personal loss, together with the transformation of Flanders Fields.

The 2015 coin is accompanied by ex-serviceman Anthony Devanny's thought provoking poem "We who remain" which is printed in the accompanying booklet together with further information on the designer's inspiration.

The obverse of the coin depicts an image of Her Majesty the Queen by Ian Rank- Broadley FRBS.
