Press Release - Covid - Phase 5 12.06.2020

Bailiwick to enter Phase 5 on Saturday June 20

With no new Covid-19 cases reported for more than 40 days, Health & Social Care announced the Bailiwick can enter Phase 5 of the exit strategy earlier than expected - on Saturday June 20.

That means an end to social distancing and restrictions on gatherings, with shops, pubs, schools and businesses allowed to operate as they did before lockdown.

Islanders are asked not to be complacent in the 'new normal' and to respect each others' physical space as the restrictions are lifted.

Travel restrictions still apply with anyone arriving from outside the "Bailiwick Bubble" expected to self-isolate for 14 days. All told, there are 421 people self-isolating in the Bailiwick.

Surveillance testing on 700 people has produced no evidence of infection by the virus and antibody testing will begin next week.

Full details are in the attached Health & Social Care media announcement.
