Press Release - By-Election & Committee Appointments 28.08.2020

Proposed by-election date and new committee appointments

Following the resignation of States of Alderney Member David Earl, the next full States meeting (September 9) will be asked to approve Saturday October 10 for a by-election to replace him.

This would require nominations to be received between September 16 and 24, and would allow time for the new Member to take their seat at the October full States meeting.

A special meeting of the Policy & Finance Committee (P&F) also made several appointments to replace Mr Earl on the following Committees and working groups:

• Chairman of the Finance Committee - Christian Harris
• Deputy Chairman of P&F - Kevin Gentle
• Committee for Tourism & Economic Development - Kevin Gentle
• Member to mirror the Guernsey Committee for Economic Development - Annie Burgess
• Good Governance Group - Annie Burgess
• Air Transport Advisory Group - Steve Roberts
