Alderney election dates confirmed

At its September 9 meeting, the States of Alderney's nine sitting members confirmed the following election dates:

• By-election to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of David Earl: Saturday October 10 (Island Hall, 9.30-6.30), nominations to be submitted during the seven days ending September 24th at 4pm. The successful candidate will hold office for the remainder of Mr Earl's term, which ends on December 31, 2022.
   
• Presidential election: Saturday November 14 (Island Hall, 9.30-6.30), nominations to be submitted during the seven days ending November 4th at 4pm.
   
• Election of five of the 10 Members in the Ordinary Election: Saturday November 28th (Island Hall, 9.30-6.30), nominations to be submitted during the seven days ending November 18th at 4pm.
   
• Plebiscite election to select two Members for formal nomination at the States meeting in January to represent Alderney at the States of Deliberation, Guernsey: Saturday December 12th (Island Hall, 9.30-6.30), nominations to be submitted during the seven days ending December 2nd at 4pm.
