Temporary use of The Nunnery for key ambulance staff

The Nunnery Roman Fort heritage site is being used in the short-term as key worker housing for visiting ambulance professionals supporting the Alderney Ambulance Service. 

This arrangement gives the General Services Committee time to devise a sustainable ambulance service for the future that co-ordinates with other health and care provision on the Island. 

It also provides value for money as, understandably, other commercial accommodation that might have been used is aimed at the visitor economy for what will hopefully be a successful 2022 season.
