Joint statement from States of Alderney, Island Medical Centre, Queens Road Medical Practice.

The States of Alderney would like to reassure their community that, as a result of constructive discussions between the owners of the Island Medical Centre (IMC) and representatives of the States, positive progress is being made to secure the future provision of GP services on Alderney.

In the light of this progress, Queens Road Medical Practice, have kindly agreed to continue to work alongside IMC's Dr Simon Hamilton. This is subject to a firm agreement being reached between the States of Alderney and the IMC in the very near future.

All parties involved are working tirelessly and collaboratively. They are acutely aware of potential impact in the community. So that extra pressure is not placed on the current GP's, Administration staff, IMC Admin and Pharmacy services, please think twice before requesting additional repeat prescriptions, repeat enquiries and asking for complete copies of medical records.

As and when further suitable updates become available, they will of course be shared.

Thank you for your understanding as we all work through this challenge to find a suitable long-term solution.
