Full Workshop Hustings Notice 2023

PUBLIC NOTICE

FORTHCOMING BY ELECTION on Saturday 18th February 2023

A HUSTINGS WILL BE HELD on WEDNESDAY 15th February in The Island Hall

An opportunity for the voters to meet the election candidates, and the candidates to meet the public.

The format will be:-
An Open Workshop between 5.00pm and 6.30pm
where the public will have an opportunity to speak to the candidates on a one to one basis.

Followed by a Traditional Hustings from 7.00pm
where a limited number of questions will be taken from the floor.

The President has agreed to act as Chairman of the Hustings and the meeting will be conducted according to the following rules:-

a) Questions may be addressed to one or all of the candidates but all candidates will be given the opportunity to respond.
b) No response may last more than 3 minutes.
c) Questions to be made verbally at the meeting.
d) The meeting will not be allowed to turn into a debate between candidates and/or questioners. It is to be a question and answer session.
e) No personal accusations or innuendoes will be allowed.
f) Candidates or questioners who refuse to abide by these rules will be asked to leave.
g) The Chairman's rulings will be absolute.
