Open Planning Meeting Postponed

This month's Building & Development Control (BDCC) open meeting has been deferred until 22nd June pending Planning Officer and administrative appointments.

Although some routine planning applications that meet the relevant criteria can be fast-tracked, the vacancy for a qualified Planning Officer has yet to be filled. It is expected that applications requiring reports and recommendations will be dealt with at the June meeting.

The States of Alderney is working with Guernsey Planning Services to ensure that suitable support is available to provide assistance with the current list of applications and a planning administrator has also been appointed to assist with the process.

BDCC Chair Kevin Gentle said: "The open meeting delay is to be regretted but is unfortunately necessary. In the meantime, we will fast-track as many applications as are appropriate in line with the relevant criteria."
