GSC appoints Members for areas of responsibility

Alderney's General Services Committee (GSC) has named the States Members with responsibility for various aspects of its mandate.

Bill Abel has been elected Deputy to Chairperson Lin Maurice. She takes the lion's share of responsibility with Harbour & Fisheries, Transport & Traffic, Water & Sewerage, Emergency Services and Police Liaison within her remit.

Mr Abel will look after Waste Disposal, Dumps & Derelicts and shares responsibility for the Braye Opportunity Area with Derwent Smithurst. Mr Smithurst will also be responsible for Recreation, Campsite and Island Hall functions.

Steve Roberts will shoulder responsibility for Agriculture, Open Areas and the Environment including wildlife and Burhou island.

Ian Carter will look after States Properties and Property Asset Management.
